For bars

An AI music system for bars that runs the night while your staff serve

SkafRemix plays your bar’s music across the phases of the evening, takes approved guest requests by QR and keeps playing locally if the internet drops. Your staff step in only when they want to.

In short

  • Planned music flow from early evening to late night, with controlled transitions
  • Optional QR song requests and voting in the browser—no app, moderated by your rules
  • Staff control: start, pause, skip, mood and manual takeover
  • Local playback on the Edge, also without internet

Package that usually fits: Flow from €19 per month, net. Your venue check confirms the right package.

The music problem in most bars

In a busy bar, nobody’s main job is the music. Someone switches playlists between orders, the volume jumps, and the mood depends on who is on shift.

SkafRemix takes that job off the bar: you set the music profile once, and the system follows it every night—from the calm start to the busy hours.

How a bar night runs with SkafRemix

  1. Early evening

Relaxed music that leaves room for conversation while the first guests arrive.

  2. Main hours

More groove as the bar fills up. Approved requests can join the flow.

  3. Late night

Energy rises step by step, within the limits you set. Staff can hold or lift the mood.

  4. Closing

The night winds down as planned. Staff can stop or take over at any time.

What your bar gets

Music Flow

Phases, energy and transitions follow your profile: genres, must-play songs and what should never play.

Guest requests by QR

Guests request and vote in the browser. Requests outside your rules are never played automatically.

Screens

Now Playing, the request QR code and display modes on your screens (from Flow).

Local reliability

Playback runs on the Edge in your bar and continues if the connection drops.

What your staff still do

  • Start the night (or let a scheduled flow do it)
  • Adjust the mood or volume when the room changes
  • Approve or decline requests in Assisted mode
  • Take over manually whenever they want

What an AI DJ for bars can and cannot do

An “AI DJ” for bars is, in practice, an automated music system. SkafRemix plans the night in phases, plays your bar’s own licensed music with controlled transitions, keeps to your genres and no-go list, places approved guest requests and keeps playing on the Edge if the internet drops.

What it does not do: it does not perform live, it does not read the room like an experienced person and it does not improvise. It reacts to your rules, the time of night, guest votes and what your staff decide. Automatic detection of explicit content is not available yet; you keep unwanted content out with your rules and moderation.

The AI host voice with a 3D avatar is a pilot feature from Party: it needs the performance box, staff switch it on, and its voice and reactions are always labelled as AI. Mashup moments are also a pilot feature, not a standard part of a bar night.

Before you switch your bar to an AI music system

These points show whether and how the switch fits the way your bar works.

  • Check that your licences for playing music in public are in place and cover how you use music
  • Know which licensed music you will play: SkafRemix brings no music of its own
  • Write down how a typical evening develops: opening, busy hours, late night and closing time
  • List your genres, the songs that must play and what should never play
  • Note your sound system and where the Edge box can be connected
  • Choose the mode for each night: Manual, Assisted or Auto
  • Decide who on each shift may take over, pause or skip
  • Decide whether guest requests and screens are part of your format (from Flow)
  • Plan a test night with your team before you rely on it every night

Questions and answers

Is SkafRemix an AI DJ for bars?

It is an automated music system that plans and plays your bar’s music within your rules. It does not perform live like a DJ; it keeps a consistent flow so your staff can focus on guests.

Do guests need an app to request songs?

No. Guests scan a QR code and request or vote in their browser, without an account. Guest requests are part of Flow and higher packages.

Can staff block certain songs or genres?

Yes. You define genres and unwanted content in the music profile. Requests outside these rules are not accepted automatically, and staff can decline any request.

What does it cost for one bar?

Bars usually start with Flow at €19 per month, net, plus the Edge box: bought once (€350) or included for €30 more per month. Remote setup is free.

Is music included?

No. SkafRemix plays your bar’s own licensed music. The licences for playing music in public stay with your venue.

Is an AI DJ legal in a bar?

Yes, provided your venue holds valid licences for playing music in public—the same as for a playlist or a DJ. SkafRemix supplies no music and no licences, and where an AI voice speaks to guests, it is always labelled as AI. This is general information, not legal advice.

Does an AI DJ mix songs like a human DJ?

No. SkafRemix links songs with controlled transitions, but it does not perform a live set. Prepared mashup moments that blend songs are a pilot feature in Party, and unsafe combinations are not played automatically.

Does the AI host talk to my guests?

Only if you use the pilot feature. The AI host with a 3D avatar is available from Party on the performance box; staff switch it on, and its voice and reactions are always labelled as AI.

What happens on nights when a DJ plays in my bar?

Staff can pause SkafRemix or switch to Manual for the DJ’s set. Before and after the set, SkafRemix can play the warm-up and the closing, or run in Assisted mode next to the DJ.

Can I test an AI music system before switching completely?

Yes. Request a pilot for your venue: we look at your sound system and typical nights and propose a package and scope. Remote setup is free.
