Song requests by QR code—without losing control of the music

Guests scan a QR code at the table or on a screen and request or vote in their browser. SkafRemix checks every request against your rules and places it where it fits the night.

In short

  • No app and no account for guests
  • Requests outside your rules are never played automatically
  • Voting shows what guests want; staff keep the final say
  • Included from Flow (€19 per month, net)

How guests request a song

  1. Scan

Guests scan the QR code at the table or on a screen. It opens in the browser.

  2. Request

They choose a song. Anything outside your rules is not played automatically.

  3. Vote

They support requests from other guests; votes show what the room wants.

  4. Result

A request joins the flow when it fits the phase and your rules—the current song finishes first.

How you keep control

Venue rules

Genres, unwanted content and phases decide what can be accepted.

Staff moderation

In Assisted mode staff approve requests first; they can decline any request.

Crowd Brain

Combines approved requests, votes and staff direction without giving the crowd full control.

Safety checks

Guest texts pass automatic checks; shoutouts on screens need staff approval.

Why not just take requests at the bar?

Requests at the bar cost staff time, get forgotten and often do not fit the moment. With QR requests, guests take part, staff stay at their job and the music still follows your plan.

Song request app, paper slips or QR requests: a comparison

There are three common ways to take song requests in a venue. The difference lies less in the request itself than in what happens next.

Checklist: setting up QR song requests in your venue

What to decide and prepare before the first night with requests.

  • Set genres, must-play songs and unwanted content in your music profile before you switch requests on
  • Decide on which nights and in which phases requests should be active
  • Start in Assisted mode, so staff approve every request before it plays
  • Name who moderates incoming requests on each shift
  • Place the QR code where guests see it from their seat: table cards, the bar and your screens
  • Add one line next to the QR code: requests follow the venue’s rules, and the current song plays to the end
  • Show Now Playing on your screens so guests see what is playing
  • Check mobile reception and your venue’s internet: requests and votes pause while the venue is offline
  • Test it with your team: scan, request, vote, approve and decline once before guests do

Questions and answers

Do guests need to download an app?

No. The QR code opens a page in the browser. Guests need no app and no account.

Can a guest force a song to play next?

No. Requests are checked against your rules and placed where they fit; the current song finishes first. Paid options, if agreed with Enterprise, never override your rules.

What happens to requests when the internet is down?

Guest requests and votes pause while the venue is offline; the music keeps playing locally. They resume after reconnection.

Which packages include QR requests?

Flow, Crowd, Party and Enterprise. Basic runs the music flow without guest interaction.

Is the song request app free for guests?

Yes. Requesting and voting cost guests nothing. For your venue, QR requests are included from Flow (€19 per month, net); paid guest options exist only if agreed individually with Enterprise.

Can I switch song requests off on certain nights?

Yes. You decide whether and when requests are active, for example only at weekends or not during a private party. The music flow keeps running without them.

What do staff see when a request comes in?

Staff see incoming requests on the staff page. In Assisted mode they approve or decline each one; a declined request is not played.

Do guests see what happens to their request?

Yes. After sending, the page confirms that the request is in and explains that the current song plays to the end and the request is placed where it fits the night; in Assisted mode, staff approve it first.

Can people request songs from a livestream chat?

Only as a pilot feature: from Crowd, requests can come from the chat of your venue’s own Kick or Twitch channel and are checked against your rules like QR requests.
